ABOUT US
The Parents of Children with Down syndrome (PODS) of Prince George’s County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide support and resources for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. PODS seeks to provide the community and surrounding areas with information and education to broaden awareness and foster positive attitudes regarding people with Down syndrome.
PODS invites you to learn more about Down syndrome, our programs and services and how to get involved. PODS is an organization that supports self-advocates, families, educators and healthcare professionals.

​Our Philosophy
Our principal focus is to provide support to families of people with Down syndrome. We work to inform the community about the existence and needs of people with Down syndrome with the aim of building inclusive environments for all.

Our Members
PODS members are diverse and welcoming. Our hands and heart are open to EVERYONE who is interested in learning more. We share one vision “A world for individuals with Down Syndrome where limitless potential is accepted, embraced and expected”.

Our members also enjoy participating in formal and informal social events, which provide a wonderful opportunity to build friendships and learn from each other.
